This recent trend is ridiculous.

Football matches should not be cancelled for the condictions outside the ground. People make their own choices to travel.

No American football match has been called off for the weather in 20 years. And they have a real claim culture. Who is making these decisions???? Some safety officer? Who employs these people? The club? Or are the council officials?

They also play in a lot worse conditions then this little dusting in the uk.

An expat colleague of mine has just explained to me that although councils usually clean the roads, they rarely bother with the pavements (although it is allegedly their responsibility, too), hence the reason for many games being called off? Nothing to do with the football grounds at all, what a travesty.

I agree, the pavements are rarely cleared it is probably the council's responsibilty to clear these too. Perhaps if I slip, I too can sue the council.

I was wondering if they would have only have had to grit the roads parrallel to the 4 stands but apparently all routes from local Underground Stations would require some sort of treatment as well.

Quite a big operation by all accounts to improve the Health & Safety around the ground

Would be helpful to me, to find out what kind of costs could be incurred if someone went to football and had an accident inside or outisde the ground??

Depends on the injury sustained and the level of negligence of the club.

Spurs are insured for damages of up to £300,000,000 for personal injury claimes. Claims of £50k for day to day injuries (spectator hit in face by ball in warm up etc) are pretty normal in the PL.
