we have been lacking knowledge of lower leagues and it may be a reason why we have missed out on players, e.g. fryatt, beckford when in non-league, sam vokes...etc

at the end of the day though, isnt it flavio who has the final say on transfers? allen could come to him with a signing we would think is class at this level, but he might be turned down by flavio...

Gianni Paladini’s arrival at Rangers in 2004 was followed by a change of direction in which the scouting set-up was reduced.

That doesn’t necessarily means that Paladini, now with the title of sporting director, is a barrier to building this area of the club five years on.

Ultimately, it is the owners who must make these changes happen - and they haven’t seemed interested.

Nice to see David McIntyre is covering himself for any legal ramifications.

I have touched on this in various threads over the past year and I fail to how Gianni Paladini doesn't have any input into this area.

How many of you can hold your hands up to not doing the job your job title suggests you do....well Paladini obviously does and he very well paid for it.

Bring a football man in to sit around a Board Room table with FB, AB & BE (with Paladini out of the picture) and explain to them what they need to do and why the youth set up should be paramount to the success of a football club. Maybe the issue is Paladini just being a yes man to frightened of losing his own cushy little number, whatever it is a youth academy should have been top of the agenda the day this club was taken over.
