Newcastle are are very attractive proposition. Beckford would like that move - top of league, big stadium etc.

If it was Middlesborough, as previously reported, I think we could compete.

He should be our no.1 target IMHO. He is worth £3 million if there are competing bidders.....

Even though he's a local lad would you pick us over the team at the top of the league? I can't see it happening somehow and don't expect any decent players coming our way anytime soon but desperately hoping I'm wrong of course!!

Leeds won't sell for £1.25m, they would rather him leave on a free if it aided their promotion to the CCC.

Unless a silly offer goes in of £3-4m of course, which we won't do.

The fact that we are not even in for him says it all. No-one in the higher echelons of this club has any idea what we need. It really is not that hard. At least one quality forward, a right or left back and an experienced centre half.

If we signed Sol Campbell, Beckford and Shorey we would make the play offs at least. The board have shown absolutely no ambition in the signings they have made. Loan signings are not the answer. Understandably Watson, Taarbt and Simpson all have different agendas and if asked honest couldn't give a toss about us getting into the play-offs as long as they secure a contract somewhere.
