A little less alarmed
UK Outlook for Thursday 21 Jan 2010 to Saturday 30 Jan 2010:
Patchy rain or sleet across central and eastern parts on Thursday (21st) gradually clearing east. Then drier for a time before a band of widespread and locally heavy rain is expected to move into western parts later, spreading across the whole of the UK by Friday. Rain is likely to turn to snow, especially across northern hills with significant accumulations possible. Also windy with a risk of gales in the north and west. From next weekend (23rd/24th) onwards the weather looks likely to remain generally unsettled with sleet and snow at times over northern hills. Most areas will see temperatures around normal although it may remain rather cold at times in the northeast. The best of any drier weather looks likely to be across southern parts of the UK.
