At the time for QPR they were massive transfer fees infact even still today they are some of the biggest outlays reported we have made on players.....so you are wrong.

He ended up costing the club nothing. It took almost 30 months but we got most of our money back from the clubs insurance when they finally paid out.

Ray Wilkins and Trevor Francis were big names, they worked for us.
As did Roy Wegerle who was our record signing at the time as I recall.

                  John Spencer? Gavin Pea****?

Dave Thomas, Tony Currie and the return of Clive Allen were mighty big signings back in the day.

Same with, to a lesser extent, Gary Bannister and Roy Wegerle. Big(ish) names at the time and did brilliantly.

                      Robinson - terrible scoring record
Lee and Reid - 20 or so games at end of carrer
Spack and Hodge are you sure
                      Wilkins rescued his carrer
Currie why didnt we take him to 1st div
                      Francis - average
                      Thomas major sucess
Fitz Hall - lot of potential
