    Championship clubs facing potential administration

This is QPR related so don't move.

Just picked up a rumour on another clubs MB that their may be a number of clubs (3/4) facing adminstration this season.

2 of the clubs mentioned were Cardiff who apparently are severley in debt which has been well documented in the past and Leicester who are struggling to keep up with other clubs in the CCC and are living well beyond their means.

If either of these 2 clubs were hit with 10pt deductions then that would be hugely beneficial to our season so I was wondering if anyone else could throw some light on these or any other clubs financial situations in the league. Obviously this is just rumour mongering but given the current financial climate it may not be to far from the truth.

The problem is that that revenues in the Championship are peanuts. In order to compete with teams that come down from the Premiership (who receive parachute payments for a couple of seasons), clubs are under big presure to spend big.

Look at Cardiff City, they have spent big for many seasons now to try and reach the promised land of the Premiership but as yet haven't succeeded. There is only so long clubs can keep doing that without getting into trouble.

By the same token it is essential that we capitalise on our good form and get ourselves promoted this season. Who knows how long our board and their deep pockets will hang about and without them you could definitely add QPR to the list of clubs in risk of going into administration!

Totally QPR related. Would affect our season immensely if other Championship clubs went into administration!

I feel this is the reason we must keep our backers happy , as we could go down the pan rather fast

So far names thrown about are

                Cardiff
                Watford
                Derby
                Leicester
                Bristol City
                Palace

January transfer window could be interesting especially if we start to flex some muscle. At least 3 of the teams mentioned so far could potentially be well up there. Administration aside a depleated squad and lack funds could actually see some of our rivals slip away from contention this season.

I know you aren't meant to wish another club into administration, but football is dog eat dog and as some of those clubs are serious rivals - Cardiff, Palace - I actually hope this is true. Wouldn't like them to go out of business, but a nice ten point deduction and a drift down to the relegation zone wd do the job...
