I'm surprised to see Legs come outside anyones top 3, let alone top 4.
Massively under rated player IMO.

Unfortunately for him, his passing lets him down so gets him bad press.

His ability to break up the play and strength in the tackle is impressive and his engine is emmence. These are huge assets to have in this league.

Leigertwood is important as he normally smashes up the middle allowing players like Buzz, Rowlands and co to go forward and hurt teams.

Completely agree mate, but without Legs to do all the hard graft, Buzz can't get the required time and space to conjour up those magical moments.

Ok, not on the same scale, but look how well Ince and Gazza worked together. You always need a man prepared to step up and do the donkey work.

Leggy's engine enables him to do this all day. I doubt he'd slow up playing back-to-back games.

true but to me it would be easier to find a Legs replacement than a buz replacement, as you said he can tackle and run but his passing ain't all that. We got Buz cheap, we'd have to spend a good few £m to get a similar replacement.
Hence why i had Buz at the top
