I'm happy that Mahon starts today

Does anyone else think we stand a better chance of getting a result today with 'The Enforcer' sitting in front of the back four.

I really rate Watson but I am not the slightest bit bothered that he is suspended mainly because of his poor temperment & Mahons oustanding form.

Incidently today is a special occassion for me as its the first time in living memory I've been an arm chair supporter and watched Rangers from the comfort of my own home having never invested in Sky Sports in my life.....looking forward to it

Same here mate, can't wait to see the Rs live on telly for the first time ever for me!

I'm not 100% convinced on Mahon, he's looked good recently but his lack of pace really lets him down.

Would probably start with him and Faurlin, we have the mighty mikele on the bench today i think, if it all doesn't go too well

Agree mate, not sure how he warrants the amount of stick he gets on these mbs. This game is perfect for his role, plot in front of the back 4 make sure he's first to every second ball and then give it simple to our more attack minded players. At home i'd rather a Watson character who gives us a bit more going forward but away, with the pace we have in the time old Gavlar will do the job

Mahon is just right for this match but you cannot mention him in the same breath as Watson, different leagues. My only concern about Gavin for this one is he tends to run out of puff late on in games and make rubbish passes - and not sure who we have to come on. If Mikele has just got over swine flu, great athlete tho he is, not sure he will be on the money. Might have to call on The Nose...

And to think lots of people were saying when Watson arrived "oh not another midfield player, how are they all going to get a game...?"

No I would rather Rowlands and Watson be starting but Mahon is a decent enough player and does his job well just hope Faurlin has a stormer alongside him!

Yeah this game needs a Mahon type player (ball winner) will be harder to take the game to Derby at there ground, and will have to be solid, just the sort of player needed imo.

Getting himself sent off against Swansea, getting himself booked in the first place against Reading with a stupid challenge on the edge of the box, picking up enough yellow cards to pick up an additional one match ban and in how many games?
