The boys in those wing back roles need serious coaching on how to play that role and in bidwell's case he has not improved in that role in over 1 year playing it.
That I’m afraid shows the idiocy of the manager. Why persist with a system we haven’t got the players for? Doing the same every week and expecting a different outcome. We are not playing to our strengths and are rolling over too easily. It’s not acceptable

Greg. At half time we had lynch up front which kind of said it all for me.

Because he's both very stubborn and stupid. Stubborn to not give other formations and systems a try. And stupid enough not to see that the players aren't able to do what they do best for the fear of being out of position and being left hung out to dry by the opposition. Furlong should be going forward with Wszolek in front of him as a pair. Backing each other up. And Bidwell just is not a wingback in any shape or form. He also needs a regular left winger in front if him. Holloways insistance of playing three in midfield is the cause of the problems because he then has to shoehorn the rest of the side around them and we don't have the specialised players to play wingback. It's so unbalanced it baffles me how he is blind to it.

Every word. As plain as the cap on Holloway's head.

Exactly. He just rolls the dice and occasionally gets lucky. It’s like George Santos all over again

That has been our Identity for too long now. A strange kind of Identity if you ask me.

Everyone keeps on saying these days that the game has moved on so much. Well what happened to good old 442 or 4411. Where there are pairings all over the pitch. Something that the players can grow an understanding of each other in their respective pairs. Cb, Lb+lw, Rb+rw, cm, 2cf. Everyone should have a back up helping them. It happened for a hundred years ffs with success. If you don't have the players to play in these modern day systems then revert back to the tried and tested. If he were to play this way with the same players they would know each others games onside out. At the moment we have players moving all over the pitch randomly without much back up. It just seems like a scatterbrain approach. How many players have we had in both wingback positions so far?

Thought Bayern Borough played well. I refer you to the excellent points made by Jeff. Playing wing backs without wing backs and having no width STINKS. Hence wingeing and moaning.

at lower levels including the championship those tactics work well and 442 or 4411 would work real well for us, bids and bos and furs and pavel makes a whole load of sense. theres a reason why these guys are playing in the championship and not in the prem so play them to their strengths. does my head in at times!!!!
