memories of 1982, cup final day

my schoolmate came wiv us, he is millwall and wore a millwall shirt at game...got many odd looks...
the replay, he came.

so proud of qprfc that day and suppose always will be..despite my nags!

i can catogorically tell you i had a lump in my throat as the teams came out!

1. I always thought it was the crowd who sang Abide With Me - didn't realise that it also comes out through speakers.
2. My disabled uncle getting a ticket for the replay for me by going to QPR and claiming to be a long-time QPR fan who couldn't come regularly due to his diability. (Actually he was a Millwall fan.)
3. Feeling so sad becuase the first game was awful, and sadder after the replay becuase we played so well.

I was only 5 and have never forgivem my dad for not taking me, i also cannot bear to watch it on DVD.

I have heard stories of Rangers fans urinating on the spuds below, which i like.

Remember it didnt hurt as much as loosing to Oxford.Remember seeing a load of new Spud scarfs at sch day after, and thinking how much me and the other 2 Rs at sch could of made selling ours if wed won.

I was only a nipper. Mum took me to the replay - she worked at Wembley for the dog racing (or something) - couldnt' get tickets to the first game.

Was gutted and remember it being a long journey home. Remember my red and black flag too :very_sad:

spurs believed chelsea were backing up qpr, hence most of the rows...
i saw spurs mob attacking qpr fans queueing to get into wembley..man,woman,child or beast..any in the way got a whack.
qpr gave some back...when i was at qpr queueing for replay tkts, i saw many spurs i knew in our queue as no vouchers given, just turn up....
disgrace really
i saw a mass brawl in lower tier, then some black lads jump on the wall and pull out blades and jump down..time to go for me...i also heard qpr were in-fighting
ladbroke grove v notting hill or something??

qpr played so well..the replay after they scored, it was all qpr
i have the dvd but have never watched it..too painful

Chelsea were with QPR on the night of the replay, they were also with Rs on the saturday as well.

Never forget the morning of the Cup final meeting outside the Springbok and then walking all the way to wembley with 1000's of RRRRrrrssssssssss, also any spurs fan's on route got a bit of a slap from a few boy's !!

Never went to the replay as it was a school night and had no one to take me, have never forgiven my old man

blimey where do i start,my father had died in january 1982 and he had took me to rangers since i was five years old
i had to wait in the car park of the general smuts in the car whilst he had a couple of pints
eating crisps and drinking lemonade
so it was very emotional but the lasting memory i have is qpr fans were so
agressive
firmed up with a mob two thousand strong they were attacking tottenham fans all over the place
I JUST WISHED FOR A WEMBLY GAME THERE SHOULD BE NO VIOLENCE ITS SUCH A SPECIAL EVENT
IF EVERYBODY MADE AN EFFORT JUST FOR CUP FINALS IT WOULD BE SO MUCH BETTER
i saw a tottenham fan sitting in his car with his wife and children get dragged out of the car and given a few slaps
his kids were screaming

bent ref, later banned from future games mr white if i recall

good qpr goal ruled offside cos stainrod was ko'd in box, away from goalmouth too
linesman waving for a qpr pen, for ages he kept it up and ref waved play on!!

Tickets were on sale at Wembley for the replay and there were loads more Spurs there on the Sunday morning than Rangers. As a result quite a few Spurs in the bottom part of our end and it went off several times.

There was a big brawl before kick off below me behind the goal, played very well and didn't deserve that but you don't always get what you deserve especially in football.
