Surely any scout worthy of the name, would be going to games and watching players even if they were not working. They would surely still have some idea of possible targets. It's not like starting a new job at Tesco.

It's six clubs, you're right. But then Fulham and Hull got two each. There's other players on loan in the Premier, as well as in lower divisions and even outside Britain. We could had at least tried for a central defender.

Perhaps you meant can he run up and down on either wing & beat his chest. Passing the ball, crossing or shooting accurately are not needed.

True. They would have been watching players for months and preparing a list for recommending to interested clubs.
