Assuming we continue to get rid of dead wood like Caulker and Borysiuk, and that we add three new prospects in the next two months, how would you play it. IMHO, we need to rebuild the defense around Smithies first. Two new starters there to be sure, while moving Grant Hall back to his better position as a centre back. Trying to find a quality striker is difficult at best; would wait till the end of the transfer window to pick up a newbie needing first team action or an oldie looking for a final hurrah.

One veteran gk if Smithies leaves - provides a safety net if Ingram or Lumley hit a rocky patch as number 1

An experienced CB - someone in the Dunne/Nelsen mould

Experienced central midfielder

Obvious one - A goalscorer

We've got some promising young talent at the club. Time to add a bit of know how that can be their on field leaders.

Might have Bowler but not much else that's not in the first team.

Our midfield options as example - Freeman / Luongo / Cousins / Manning etc - average age of probably 22/23. Young.

One big positive from last season was some youth players coming into the first team. Credit where it's due.

Would love to see us sign James Vaughn - Banged 25 goals in for a poor Bury team in league 1 last year and I think he'd score 15-20 in the champ if he stays fit.
