They say they have the clubs best interests at heart. They say they want a young manager who will develop alongside the team. They say they want someone who can build a team.
He fits everything that this football club needs at this moment in time.
Cut the ########, grow some balls and get him in right now.Comment

Won't happen. He'll go somewhere else, he'll do well, we'll sack Holloway in October and have no decent options to replace him!
Lets be honest though. You think Monk would come here right now? Zero transfer budget, squad that needs a bit of work, LF looking over his shoulder etc. His stock is high, he'll find a club that he has a genuine chance of getting promoted or he'll get himself in at a club in the top flight like Palace.Comment

He went to Leeds who are hardly the picture of stability. Of course he would. However, it appears we are keeping IH.Won't happen. He'll go somewhere else, he'll do well, we'll sack Holloway in October and have no decent options to replace him!

No chance we will get rid of Holloway now. Would have happened before now if he was going. Plans already being put into place for next season with Holloway orcastrating (spelling) who he wants in and out.Comment

No chance. Suspect board will stick with Holloway despite his disastrous second coming.
Until FFP settled and signed off we will not know how serious the club are about budget constraints.
Looking at club objectively, if the manager post did become available, I could see us being attractive to following types:
1. Up and coming League 1/2 manager looking to make step up.
2. Foreign manager looking to get a foothold in Championship with a view to being picked up by Premiership side.
3. Experienced Championship/lower Premiership manager who fancies being able to take a reasonable but not great Championship side, tinker with it a little and try and get near play offs.
Instead we have Ollie ... thanks Tony etc.Comment

Is this the same Garry Monk whose Leeds team failed to beat the worst QPR team ever seen last season ?Comment

Not so convinced myself mate. I think there are few clubs in the market for a manager, who are more appealing than us, that would take him on in a heartbeat!Comment

Would be amazed if he wasn't already in talks with Palace as soon as Allardyce announced he was off.....only reason Leeds haven't been able to keep him IMO.Comment
