Alex Bruce just released by Hull City. Would be a decent signing for us in the Championship. Old school defender in the Clint Hill mold who could complement the more ball playing style Grant Hall.

Not going to knock the bloke as we haven't even signed him, he is a good player but certainly not a great one and nowhere near better than what we already have, so why sign him.

What last season showed was we were woefully short of character at the back - we missed the Clint hill - Richard Dunne type of player - when grant Hall was injured we we left with 2 centre backs - someone of this pedigree might be what we need.

Couldn't get a game at Hull so was loaned out to the mighty Wigan for the second half of the season. Averaged 17 games a season at Hull in 5 years,so that is not really a wealth of experience.
As stated most of them was when his Dad was there,not much since.

Wouldnt mind him here though, bags of experience and would provide cover. Plus we signed clint hill when he was 31 or whatever and hes the best defender we've had during my time as a supporter. Theres a few decent free transfers about tbh, wouldnt mind jason lowe of blackburn either, 25, leaving the club and was their captain plus hes a tough midfielder

Good points to be fair. Some older CB's are better positionally and tactically, just get a speedy CB alongside them for quick strikers.

Lowe would be a decent shout.
