    3-4-3

Have we ever played that system before ? It looks good when we were attacking and it became 2-5-3 with Hall going forward. defending it was 5-3-2. I like it but would it work with the better teams cos Brum were playing 5-3-2 and were awful.

Its been the system since Olly took over. Just different variations depending on situation of game

Just looked at all the stats right back to the Albion game and we have never started out as a 3-4-3 ?

Leave the stats to Nasser. Hove is right .The system was designed to fit Ned in in.When Hall was injured Perch did the job.

when it works, with the right personnel it totally fixes our previous midfield woes.

So its 3-5-2 goes 5-3-2 ball lost.

I still prefer 4-3-3 goes 4-5-1 ball lost because its just tighter against better opposition, ie teams with late arriving AMF are more likely to get picked up. You can also sit a little less deep with it.

The problem of course with that system is it doesn't cater so well for a partnership up top. That is the tactical conundrum.

When Hall steps back to CB its a 3 or 5 at the back depending where the full backs are, when he steps into midfield it makes 3 in CM. There isn't 1 set formation, its more fluid and changes depending on the game

I was talking about starting out as a 3-4-3 . Obviously during the game it changes depending on the play.

Current set up looks based on 3-5-2 from the off, suits Olly's total football approach ;) Seriously though it does give more flexibility than many other set ups.
