Could be his agent trying to give themselves a better negotiating position over the new contract

Especially as the article says he's only made one appearance since returning! He's only been eligible for one!

I'm not surprised you could see from when he made his debut there is a very decent player in him he just needs experience now. Need to tie him down

            It's from the hitc website.

                this hahaha.

plus why on earth would you want to leave if you're furlong atm? you've only just broke into the game at a team where your dad is youth coach and your dad's ex manager and good friend is managing. would make no sense for him to leave to aston villa who'll either wait years to give him a chance or never at all

Might be confusing him with someone else but I'm sure he would have said it if he were around.

Quote from the lad himself about Olly after the Reading game:

“He’s filled me with confidence, he’s told me to forget anything that has happened before and take the positives from where I have been and what I have done and to jump into it with everything I have got, which is what I am going to do.
“It was amazing though, what a feeling! It’s so nice to comeback and be thrown straight in and win the game.
“We are delighted, the changing room was unbelievable afterwards.”

                    - Certainly sounds as if he wants away

I don't find this hard to believe at all. Darnell is going to be a top top full back, as Arry would say.

I believe that Darnell Furlong should sign the new contract and should be our first choice right back.

Have to wonder why we let him go out on loan?

It did him a world of good and he performed above expectation imo. His confidence was shattered after being wrecked in the prem and needed to be eased back into our first team.

He has every potential to be our new rb though and i hope he does
