I think there is a lot to like about the signing. United fans rate him and they are generally pretty well educated about the youth coming through at the club. We need a cultured central midfielder, plus he can cover at left back where we are pretty much reliant on Bidwell with Robinson only being available sporadically!

We'll only get him if he is a fraud like most of the other MU loans. If he's good and getting on the bench for the first team he must have better options than us.

If he does come he'll be a Parejo or LTC until he leaves and then becomes premiership quality.

If he can pick a pass, shrug off opposition, make a tackle, stick to a game plan and work with the team in the way that Carrick does he's worth a punt.

Carrick is currently the best midfielder in the country. Only need to look at what United do with, and without him on the pitch to see that. I think he was better than Gerrard and Lampard. Sure a different type of player, he doesn't score like they do. However he's the guy that make the entire team tick.
