If we don't get in a championship quality striker who can score goals- and a creative cm who can create the odd goal- we will most likely be relegated. There are no goals in our squad. There hasn't been for over a year. Luongo, for instance, can't create or score goals. Not can Kelvin, Cousins, Sandro or, I imagine, Borysiuk.

Yeah but we still have to be sensible financially. Rhodes is good for sure but no way should we be paying anywhere near 60k a week for anyone.

Why are us fans the ones having to suffer, watching poor players nowadays - when it was the boards fault for over-spending in the first place.

He can't do that as much as he used to. We'll be in hot water with the football league again if we start splashing again.

As much as i'd love rhodes here i wouldn't love him here for 60k a week!
Theres other quality strikers out there that we could easily sign, as someone pointed out in a different thread, hourihane and winnal are coming into their last 6 months at barnsley and i'd rather have them here than spending a fortune. Hourihane certainly

I'd just be surprised if we could attract Rhodes to QPR presently! My gut feeling would be there are more ambitious clubs currently in the championship he would opt to join!

Having said that, if we did pull it off it would be a hell of a statement!

He is but he's a leader and a creative midfielder who pretty much bosses the midfield for barnsley. He's easily worth 4m+ imo but given his and winnals contract situation at barnsley we could pick up both and strenghthen two areas right from the off

Think Hourihane is top of the stats for a midfielder overall rating (I'm sure Nasser can confirm this). Would be ideal but I'm seeing Villa are interested

I'm afraid any goalscorer good enough to score 25-30 goals a season in the Championship is out of our reach financially these days. I see Brentford have put an £15million price tag on Scott Hogan, after half a season of regularly scoring at this level. Rhodes is another non-starter.

Aston Villa and SEVCO are sniffing aroung him, so another one we can probably forget about.

Club should just go all out and get him! Proven at this level and a good age as turning 27 in Feb! He would be a 4/5 year investment!

Boro want between 8-10 mill and he'll cost a fair bit In wages but he should be our one exception! Having a goal scorer at this level transforms teams and he has the ability this year to do that to us over night!

If we have ambitions to go up then surely Rhodes should be a genuinely viable option we are looking at and at 8 -10 mill pretty good value!
