I was afan in the eighties and there is nothing that ive heard that would imply we were caught up with this ,or not . I desperately hope we wern`t ,for no other reason than the lives of the lads who came through our books then .

Having had friends play in a few academies, not at all surprised by this. Hearing stories of it, some of the actions of some coaches was clearly inappropriate at best. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we had a coach at one age level who abused a child in some form over the decades. I think this sort of thing is far too common and pleased it is finally getting the coverage it deserves.
