Easier for him to rescue refugees than Caterham staff.

Bet the refugees will be spared his introductory speech though, because they can't scrape together 55k.

Caterham staff were all told at the start of the season that if they didn't get a point that season then it will be the end, they can all find jobs in F1 with a new team, it's what happens and not very hard.

You obviously don't understand F1 and Tony did the right thing coming out of the sport, the smaller teams were lied to by Bernie and it didn't help them in anyway, they were just losing money for no reason and you would've left the sport too.

It had to be the refugee thing didn't it?
Then he must of thought twice about it with the discontent around.

Tony "stick to the driving Jimbo and leave the on bus guided tours to me"

Well, thankfully this bears no resemblance to Tony's lasting success in football

You can ignore the fact the club was losing money each day when we were paying 2K a week wages. The current board are bank rolling us 'yes'.

In F1 there is no chance in getting your money back, in football you have a slight chance when you go up.

As of the takeover, the club was in a position to completely wipe off all debt (merely about 20 million) by the end of the first season in the PL, to which promotion had already been gained. That position is now but an enviable and unattainable memory. They are now bankrolling not us, but their own utter failure.

I understand that but if life was that easy, we'd all won the Lotto.

They know they've made mistakes, at least they not giving up. One day hopefully not too long in the distant future they will get it right, and they would've learned from past mistakes too.

also thoroughly questionable proposition as a pr vehicle these days, just an expensive vanity project really. It's a very long time since it was anything other than that to be honest.

Again, you wonder how well advised TF was to get into it in the first place, not the smartest move for an airline. imo.

They can't just get up and walk out. I bet they would if they could,
because even inept businessmen know when to cut losses.

In football there is no chance of getting your money back especially when you have spunked 300 million.
