Our intent is to compete and thrive within the Premier League.

A QPR player must be adaptable and able to cope with changing circumstances. Our players are not coached in a playing system but more in a playing style. Our style is not a rigid formation system but will include play through the thirds (possession based or counter attack), based on exceptional technique, intelligent individuals, capable of beating opponents 1v1 and via team movement. Defensively we are flexible and players are comfortable and adept whether pressing or holding; playing a high line or deep as required. Our players are encouraged to develop within this style whilst we recognise every player is an individual and very different.

Different “types” of individual players and specialists are sought – effective in making, scoring or stopping goals. However all share common traits – awareness, perceptiveness, flexibility and the ability to play what is around them for the good of the team. At first team level, the performance of the team is always of greater importance than the performance of the individual. The individual player’s performance is always of greater importance than the teams at all levels below the first team.

Our intent is to prepare players for Premier League football whilst being able to adapt to all other levels and our coaching/teaching principles and tactical cycle reflects this."

And cr@p is a bit harsh on a five game unbeaten run imo.
I'm thinking about the long term future of the club. There's been a short term response to pressure brought on by FFP, cutting our cloth etc, buying frugally and giving youth a chance. All good.

Football professionals will tell us that its a results business, true up to a point. When results are at the expense of entertainment then the argument comes unstuck when fans start voting with their feet.

I believe there is enough talent in the squad to be playing better football under a manager who has a clearer idea of how to get the most out of individuals and build a team. JFH IMHO is not building a team and is certainly light years away from the stated strategic goals for football at Rangers.

Still if we win today I'll be happy until Friday.

no, it doesn't. It just tells us that its competitive top to bottom, which is just as likely to be an indicator of mediocrity with no outstanding sides. I don't think the top two at the time of writing look anything like EPL bottom half at the moment. Just imo.

Take away Newcastle and Norwich at the top and Rotherham, Wigan and Blackburn at the bottom and there really isn't much between the rest of us TBH.

The league is poor in terms of quality but very little differrence in other areas.

We need to push on and see where it takes us as any sort of consistant positive
results will see us in the playoffs

I know. I didn't say they're invincible. They're the 2nd best side in the league though and will likely go up automatically.

Love your optimism but not many who were there today to watch another shambolic performance would think that the playoffs are a possibility.

Wonder what odds you can get for Newcastle, Norwich, Brighton first second and third. Not very good but I'd have a little flutter.

The point is this division is wide open as far as the playoffs go and as much as anything else
it comes down to attitude like how much you want it,the difference all over the pitch
is minimal yes there is Newcastle,Norwich even they slipped up today but in reality other than
the drubbing from Newcastle the rest are not that much better or worse than us.

True. Everyone is beatable and the majority of sides are very average.

Newcastle are proving me wrong but I'll still stick with Norwich winning the league.

They're a funny old side Preston, never pull up any trees but they do pull off some upsets. Tough side to play against, they always look solid against us anyway!
