How poor is the league?

I'm thinking about the long term future of the club. There's been a short term response to pressure brought on by FFP, cutting our cloth etc, buying frugally and giving youth a chance. All good.Originally posted by Kevin Mcleod View PostBy survive, do you mean stay up in the championship or not go bust?
And cr@p is a bit harsh on a five game unbeaten run imo.
Football professionals will tell us that its a results business, true up to a point. When results are at the expense of entertainment then the argument comes unstuck when fans start voting with their feet.
I believe there is enough talent in the squad to be playing better football under a manager who has a clearer idea of how to get the most out of individuals and build a team. JFH IMHO is not building a team and is certainly light years away from the stated strategic goals for football at Rangers.
Still if we win today I'll be happy until Friday.

no, it doesn't. It just tells us that its competitive top to bottom, which is just as likely to be an indicator of mediocrity with no outstanding sides. I don't think the top two at the time of writing look anything like EPL bottom half at the moment. Just imo.Originally posted by dogsrrs View PostQuite right Stan and that tells us this league is not crap

Love your optimism but not many who were there today to watch another shambolic performance would think that the playoffs are a possibility.Originally posted by Bill View PostThe league is poor in terms of quality but very little differrence in other areas.
We need to push on and see where it takes us as any sort of consistant positive
results will see us in the playoffs

The point is this division is wide open as far as the playoffs go and as much as anything elseOriginally posted by Kevin Mcleod View PostSo refreshing to read this sort of thing Bill.
it comes down to attitude like how much you want it,the difference all over the pitch
is minimal yes there is Newcastle,Norwich even they slipped up today but in reality other than
the drubbing from Newcastle the rest are not that much better or worse than us.

True. Everyone is beatable and the majority of sides are very average.Originally posted by Bill View Postbut in reality other than the drubbing from Newcastle the rest are not that much better or worse than us.
Newcastle are proving me wrong but I'll still stick with Norwich winning the league.

and you know what Matty we've been coated off regualy about losing to PrestonOriginally posted by MattyRangers View PostI know. I didn't say they're invincible. They're the 2nd best side in the league though and will likely go up automatically.
Must add Preston are a dross ridden side to watch I wonder how many of their fans are calling for the managers headLast edited by dogsrrs; 24-10-2016, 02:48 PM.

They're a funny old side Preston, never pull up any trees but they do pull off some upsets. Tough side to play against, they always look solid against us anyway!Originally posted by dogsrrs View Postand you know what Matty we've been coated off regualy about losing to Preston
