How does warnock do it !

A squad perfect for going to war with In this division. Once we go up, take a look at that squad and how many changes need to be made. Right now, We're slowly building up players to do well in this division and then go up and actually develop as premier league players without the need for ludicrous spending on wages of new players who are either aged and short term solutions. Of course some changes are needed but the backbone of the squad right now is of the right age and right mentality to succeed in the prem and if Warnock got near this squad, he'd give a short term boost, bring in "his players" in January, get us into the play offs and maybe even get us into the prem... then what? We leave the future of the club with a man who's unlikely to be there for long at all and has a perfect squad building sense for the Championship but none whatsoever for the Prem (Luke Young, really? DJ Campbell?).

They actually survived in the premiership for a season with very few players being added. It wasn't until the second season that we spent a bundle of money on new players. The players we have now could perhaps succeed if we had a better manager, but at the moment we don't have that. There is no way our present manager could manage in the premiership, to do that you have to have a certain amount of natural ability which he completely lacks. As the fans who went to the game yesterday said, he was ok until we went 1-0 down but then he had no idea what to do. After being in charge for nearly a year he should have learnt this by now but he doesn't seem to have.

IMO and the opinion of others he is not doing a perfectly good job, otherwise we could see improvement on how we played last season. I really can't see much improvement. We are just as inconsistent, he seems unable to motivate the players. Yesterday we went down 1-0 just before half time and after the break the team should have come out determined to equalize. I didn't really see much of this happening.

In what way is JFH doing a good job and how have team performances improved from last season? Our form at home is abysmal. Away from home we have been ok, but have failed to get a result draw against the better teams.

With very few players being added? Players we signed that season that went straight into the starting 11: Traore, Barton, Young, SWP, Anton, Bothroyd to start off with, then in January: Gabbidon, Cisse, Taiwo, Nedum, Zamora, Diakite. Meanwhile, lets look at all those great championship players that warnock used in the prem regularly: Kenny, Derry, Taarabt, Buszaky, Clint (who he loaned out), Faurlin until the injury, Mackie, Heidar... Those players did well for us of course, but Derry wasn't gonna stay long, Clint's done really well to be fair and managed to last much longer than he should have, Faurlin is the most unlucky thing to happen to us in the last 7 or 8 years, Heidar done well but wouldn't last and Mackie got bad very quickly and Taarabt... the less said the better, Warnock forgot how to manage him when we got to the prem. Those signings we made on huge wages were absolutely needed and actually the fact that they were needed is what cost us long term financially. That set a precedent for us, but there was no way we were going to stay in the prem without making forced signings like Zamora, Cisse, Nedum etc and without fixing the mistake Warnock made in the first place of getting rid of Clint. When your starting XI looks like:

Kenny
Onuoha, Ferdinand, Hill, Taiwo
SWP, Derry, Barton, Mackie
Cisse, Zamora

At the end of the season, it shows that you've not got a solid backbone of players who made the trip up, especially when the Old players are Kenny, Clint, Derry, Mackie, 3 of whom were nearing the end of their career and would need replacing anyway (bar clint, who's a freak of nature) and Mackie who was basically sh it but running more than most (although he gave me one of my favourite moments as an R fan).

Luongo, Chery, Sylla, Ned, Caulker, Pawel, Smithies and Perch (if he got some consistency) are I reckon pretty much capable of going up right now and being regulars in a bottom half/mid table side. In terms of potential, I can see Hall, Bidwell, Ariel, Cousins, Yeni all being capable

Nas maybe on Fifa Perch may play in the premier league but in the real world nowhere near good enough! The same applies to Onuhua, Of the others you named I would think they would be a little of other than maybe Luongo.

Nas, Nothing stupid about the comment regarding Perch as just like Warnock not good enough for that level.

Jeems is fully correct, Warnock would be a failure in the premiership. He was relegated with Crystal Palace. He was sacked by us after 8 games without a win, falling from 9th to 17th (ultimately proved right to get rid as we did stay up) and he was sacked by Crystal Palace, where he won 3 of 16. His managing style does not work in the premiership.

None of which matters a jot. a) NW said he didn't want to go back to the prem which b) would have given us time for find someone capable of doing the job at that level should he have succeeded in getting us there.

All this has been said before. Watford have switched managers a fair bit and done so with success, all this nonsense from Naz about Jimmy being the ONLY development choice is simply fantasy. Sure, everyone hopes that works out, but it is just hope.

I think TF has recruited badly in the past and there is no evidence he has not done so again.
