Our team isn't as strong as we'd think it would be if we drop Dier into the back four. He really knows how to shield the back four. Not sure drinkwater, milner, delph whoever can play it the same as Dier.

Not sure I said we should take 5 strikers, but I can see why you may take four.
1) 4-3-3
2) A striker who can play up top and in midfield e.g. Rooney, Sterling.
5 Strikers would be if you take Rashford, which I cannot see happening, he will be one of the 3 not to go to France. Sterling is seen as a Midfield / Striker, just like Lallana and Barkley.Comment

Two ways of looking at this one. Sure he's done very little this term but assuming he's fit, he's rested. A long season can leave you nothing in the tank, we've seen that before with England.
My personal opinion is that he's there for one reason, slide rule passes to find a yard of space for Vardy.Comment

This has to be Rooney's last tournament please God! He's never yet played well in a major competition, he continually drops deep and destroys the shape of the team. He's not good enough a striker now to be our main option and he's certainly not good enough a midfielder to cut it at the higher levels. If he makes it into the final 23 then it has to be as a squad player. In MY opinion! Tin hat on....2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!
2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....
2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....
2015/2016, average at best.....
2016/2017, same old, same old....
2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

- I find it funny that we 'owe' somebody a place because they are old and deserve one last tournament? Everton had a poor season by all accounts in the Prem and, quite frankly I wouldnt waste a place on the plane having a player who isn't likely to play, would rather give a young lad a chance to show what they are made of.
- I find it funny that 'losers like' Rooney are now 'Losers'? Christ, he isn't completely sh1t?!? If Phil Jags deserves a one last international tournament, then so does Rooney who quite honestly SHOULD be at least on the plane? Rooney can play up top, out wide and in the middle of the park and he is better than taking Caroll IMO.Comment

Yes Rooney hasn't produced it in major comps however you need a balance of exciting talent with experience.
Also I think Wiltshere is a fantastic little player, and yes he hasn't been fit all season but thats just because he flies into tackles and gets stuck in. I think the rest would of done him good and he is far superior to mark noble, who lets be honest has been ordinary bar this season where he has played well in a few games.
We certainly arent just making up the numbers as this is the best team we've had in years, yes I know we shouldn't harp them up but to say we wont be competitive is nonsense.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

You got your own opinions. First one, don't think any footballer is owed anything, I just thought as Hodson was talking about loyalty I thought he would be given a go. Everton has had a poor season but picked stones? And Cahill? And smalling?And he has not picked another young CB has he?
