Really sorry to see him go, but on a football decision only, I think it's the right one. Not as influential as he once was, and I feel he doesn't put his stamp on games.
Will always be thankful for his time at QPR.

What a guy, what a player. For us fans, he's been one of a few proper QPR beacons during our disgraceful mercenary/one-last-pay-check period. And as far as I can understand, he was our best midfielder this season, and the few games I was able to stream, I enjoyed watching him play.
However, if we want to push for PO/promotion this coming season or the season after, I don't think he's the right person orchestrating the midfield. He just doesn't have the legs anymore, and he would need leg-support from a DM partner, which would then take away some of the presence and pressure further up the pitch. So as much as it pains me, he's not the right person to take us forward and upwards.
And as far as I can tell, he wants to play games next season as a starter - and not be a squad player. Which is understandable, since he hasn't played many games the past 5 seasons. If it was possible to retain him as a squad player, we should have done that. But keeping him as a starter would not be the right move, if we want to knock on the PL door.
Thanks for everything, Ale. Both on and off the pitch.QPR since 1993

Toszer hasn't featured at all since JFH came in (I think?) So what makes people think he will all of a sudden be starting games next season?Top Scorers 2018/2019

Very noticeable that the usual Faurlin accuracy deserted him a little in the last few games of the season with a fair number of passes going to no-one in particular. JFH said he only saw Ali as a squad player, not playing every week, makes you wonder if JFH has been playing him as much as he could towards the end of the season to see just how much resilience is left..Comment

Sorry but I'm not convinced by JFH's claim that Ale insisted that he should start every week. He doesn't seem that sort of player. Of course, he would want to start every game but that is not the same as insisting on starting every game. This past season he often came on as a sub and I don't remember him ever complaining about it. It seems to me he always wanted to do what was best for the team but maybe I've vastly misjudged him.Comment
