My two pence worth Ale will be remembered by me fondly and I will forever appreciate his contribution in our first promotion season. That is the player I miss not the shadow of the player he is now. You can tell the mind is still there but the body I am afraid is no longer able. He played 30 games but how many of those games did he get you out your seat or have a meaningful contribution/influence. Name a game this season where he took it by the scruff of the neck and dictated how it ended up???? He used to do that as standard not anymore

Had he stayed as a squad player, as suggested we offered him, I can get my head round that but I'm afraid we won't challenge next season with him in the middle same way as we never challenged this season. Rightly or wrongly football especially in the centre of the park is all about energy, dynamism, agility and athleticism of which he sadly lacks it all

Good luck to him and hope whereever he ends up he gets to play football week in week out until he hangs his boots up as he deserves it
    Couldn't agree more mate!

Really sorry to see him go, but on a football decision only, I think it's the right one. Not as influential as he once was, and I feel he doesn't put his stamp on games.

Will always be thankful for his time at QPR.

What a guy, what a player. For us fans, he's been one of a few proper QPR beacons during our disgraceful mercenary/one-last-pay-check period. And as far as I can understand, he was our best midfielder this season, and the few games I was able to stream, I enjoyed watching him play.

However, if we want to push for PO/promotion this coming season or the season after, I don't think he's the right person orchestrating the midfield. He just doesn't have the legs anymore, and he would need leg-support from a DM partner, which would then take away some of the presence and pressure further up the pitch. So as much as it pains me, he's not the right person to take us forward and upwards.

And as far as I can tell, he wants to play games next season as a starter - and not be a squad player. Which is understandable, since he hasn't played many games the past 5 seasons. If it was possible to retain him as a squad player, we should have done that. But keeping him as a starter would not be the right move, if we want to knock on the PL door.

Thanks for everything, Ale. Both on and off the pitch.

Toszer hasn't featured at all since JFH came in (I think?) So what makes people think he will all of a sudden be starting games next season?

Didnt he start and score at Sheffield Wednesday?

I try and blank out his appearances.

There was one, well before JFH, he got a ridiculous assist and most of us here were thinking that was his turning point... how wrong were we

Isn't that. But sorry anyways. Was angry at Clint leaving. I have a very high regard for Clint. The comment needs to be seen in the context of the comment it was replying to; that Jimmy was making new heroes... But angry humour sometimes doesn't work.

Very noticeable that the usual Faurlin accuracy deserted him a little in the last few games of the season with a fair number of passes going to no-one in particular. JFH said he only saw Ali as a squad player, not playing every week, makes you wonder if JFH has been playing him as much as he could towards the end of the season to see just how much resilience is left..

Sorry but I'm not convinced by JFH's claim that Ale insisted that he should start every week. He doesn't seem that sort of player. Of course, he would want to start every game but that is not the same as insisting on starting every game. This past season he often came on as a sub and I don't remember him ever complaining about it. It seems to me he always wanted to do what was best for the team but maybe I've vastly misjudged him.
