As a player yes one of the top performers for us last season. His contract and way he viewed our squad meant he was never going to stay.

I will never believe we wouldn't have been better of with him in the team this season.

Karl Henry has done a reasonably good job of replacing him. What we have missed is his leadership qualities. What we haven't missed is all his off-the-field antics and controversy. JFH would never tolerate his type anyway. Losing Barton wasn't the main problem though because he's not a creative MF, which has been the biggest thing missing for us.
