You have to give players time to adapt and be a bit patient if we are looking at younger players with potential. There are those who hit the ground running, others may take time. Les himself spring to mind.Comment

Too early to write Gladwin off. He's hardly had any game time with us and it's not so straightforward fitting in at a loan club. Give him this extended preseason under Jimmy and see where he is next season.
Smithies for POTY for me. Hall has been good for most parts but Smithies has pretty much been outstanding since he's come in.Comment

Disagree with an earlier post of Gladwin being really poor on Saturday.
Smithies POTY for me. His 3 penalty saves alone ensures he gets my vote.Comment

Gladwin will always struggle to win over the fans IMO. He is a languid player who often looks like he's not trying, I guess the most obvious comparison would be Chris Waddle: Not that I'm suggesting Gladwin has the same level of ability because he doesn't but Waddle never looked like he was trying and Gladwin is very similar in that regard.#standuptocancer

Its hard to think where Gladwin will fit in the side withouy appearing to be a weak link with his play style tbh.
As for POTY, I'm still divided between Polter, Smithies and Hall. Hall has been outstanding this season, Smithies is the best keeper in this division and I just love Polters attitude and work rate and heck, love him tooComment

Ive noticed the Waddle comparison Blue but wasn't brave enough to mention it mateGladwin will always struggle to win over the fans IMO. This. The season has been poor with very little to get excited about.
The most effective players have been Smithies Hall Faurlin and dare I say, Phillips and Hoilett. Also, until hAlwas injured withdrawn from selection and sold, Austin.
All in all, not a lot of oustanding options.Comment

Exactly what I was about to post mate. Can't work him out at all. Doesn't seem to have enough about his game to play as one of the attacking 3. Certainly doesn't have a trick like El Khayati or pace like Hoilett and he isn't a bulldozer like Mackie. He also certainly doesn't have enough creativity to play in the hole like Cherry.
Maybe we should be utilising him in a box to box midfield role, workhorse like Joey Barton. That said, I'm really not sure he'd make the grade there either, work rate isn't exactly his game. And we've got plenty of better options, especially given that Comley and Doughty will probably be back in the fold for the start of next year.Last edited by Tarbie; 15-04-2016, 07:40 AM.Comment

I don't have a trick, I don't have pace, I'm not a bulldozer and I can't play in the hole.
That has to be the hardest riddle I've ever heard !?!? Is it David Beckham?Comment
