Oh and if we had of won and they hadn't of got that last second equaliser it still wouldn't of made any difference to catching up the play off places, so it was a nothing game imho. We have got no chance and had none before they scored, you'd of still got massive life changing odds on us reaching the play offs yesterday morning before the game.

Yeah, they are Kev but I think we're looking at my point in different ways. If I accept that this season now doesn't matter why aren't the new players getting a chance to show BEFORE it DOES matter next season? If they're crap 'it doesn't matter' - next year we'll be dropping points that WILL matter. No?

Sorry, this is a terrible thing to say. It's only a nothing game because we drew and defo put ourselves out of any slim chance we had. Had we won this board would be full of hope and excitement. So 'nothing' games are ahead are they? Let's not bother going then. No bums on seats will be a right result for the club, but why should we bother? If we are building then let's see some construction work not Mackie on the wing away to Preston. Why not Petrasso if it doesn't matter? The club has an obligation to the paying customers so there should be no 'nothing games' otherwise they are just taking the peas out of us.

But maybe, this was the last time Mackie played for us? Petrasso will get his chance next week for all we know....

Genuine post Lyme so I'm not having a pop but I really don't get all the 'not this year, wait until next' posts. You can't pick and choose which games to win and where to finish in the table. You go out to win games and IF the slim, outside chance had come off this year and we'd have got to Wembley and then the Prem (yesterday's late goal definitely killed it I reckon) it's a nice problem to have during the summer. No one is going to build a Prem side in the championship, they will always need to add and strengthen. JFH clearly thought what's left of the old guard here would be the best bet to still try and get up this year or the likes of Washington, El Khayati, Kpekwa, Petrasso even Doughty would be starting now. If he doesn't think they would have taken us forward NOW why do we think they will challenge at the top next year? Let's see who he picks and how they play for the rest of the season now there is no pressure or expectation either up or down.

just that I feel you need to be a decent Championship side to have a fighting chance in the top tier. Don't think we are, Burnley have an outside chance of doing ok in the Premiership. The two who go up with them are coming straight back down. Like you say Alan, it's all about opinions, not saying mine is right, but feel with a couple of decent acquisitions we'll be challenging next season, especially as I'm back on board as a ST holder

The winning mentality is there, we've seen it, the issue is merely about shape and fitness, I felt the substitutions seemed forced and led to the goal BUT we cannot get angry or disappointed about a result where we got the outcome that prior to the game many had hoped for realistically. Obviously everyone wants to win every match but I'll take this and move on, that's how we have to be.

I don't think we can really complain about Chery. It's not as if he misses every time and has done well in the last few games.

IT felt like a defeat to me and the coach load off rangers I went with, it was great that the players all came over and applauded us that felt great and we gave the same back, we deserved the 3 points and was gutted that we never left with them
