Well, as long as you ignore the premier league. A realistic target to keep us interested?

Quite honestly, for us to be anything other than the top London team outside of the PL would be an absolute disgrace, IMO.Originally posted by wortonranger View PostBut my point was to be top London team outside the premier league. At least it would be something to crow about, even if quietly .

Really Brights, why's that? Apart from the recent influx of millions, three London teams currently residing outside the Premier League actually have better pedigrees than us (Brentford, Fulham and Charlton), albeit it some time ago in the case of much of their league and cup success. And sure, we're the most recent occupier of a Premiership berth, but Charlton and Fulham have spent far longer in the PL than we have. The only measure that might make you right is the profligate spending of recent years, but by any other, we're actually punching above our weight, and if we do indeed finish top London team outside the PL, that's very much to our credit.Originally posted by brightonr View PostQuite honestly, for us to be anything other than the top London team outside of the PL would be an absolute disgrace, IMO.

Charlton and Fulham are in a right old state. And Brentford just don't come close to our standing.
Results against them this season would suggest the opposite, but that is down to some shocking decisions from mainly Ramsey and that very sorry episode the other week.
This season has been an absolute disater so far and to see any of them finish above us would demonstrate just how far we have fallen.

Well, not very far really Brights. We're in decent shape, all things considered - could be so much worse. We'll likely finish in the top half of the table, stabilised and building the foundations for a really good team, with (I think), a good (possibly really good) young manager. Given the craziness of the last few years, I'd say that was pretty good. The results against our local rivals have been shocking, that's true, but I see that as a blip, not the defining image of where we're at.
