Not sure I would lose Nedum, but agree we should signal a new season ahead by appointing a new captain who's sheer presence on the field equates to leadership.

We won't win anything with Onoura playing centre half everyweek, it's a simple as that and as for him being captain well that tells you all you need to know about how few characters and leaders we have in the squad.

But he isn't the worst of them and it looks like it actually matters to him unlike some of the others.

I said at the time that Ale Faulin was the only real Rangers man at the club tho not vocal but he does wear his heart on his sleeve

I'd probably go for Smithies as captain next season. I think he's only just starting to show us what a commanding presence he can be.

Back-up at best IMO and certainly never captain material. Loses concentration at vital moments and nowhere near vocal enough. Fulham's opening two goals being the latest examples.

It's funny really. Before the Fulham game we were barely conceding and that's down to the Ned/Hall partnership. Suddenly we lose 3-1 and the threads singling Ned out are back. Before the Fulham game, I'd say to as far back as NW taking charge, defensively we have largely been very good, that's a fact. I do believe Fulham was the game we conceded the most goals since Ramsey was in charge. Not being funny but Ned has been very good since NW came in and Hasselbaink after him, with the exception of the Fulham game. So why he's been made scapegoat all of a sudden I dunno.

Honestly he's never inspired me with confidence. Doesn't get his nickname for no reason. He's not a bad CB, just wouldn't be my first choice.

Such a bad article its unreal. It's so kneejerk and stupid. I'd say the only player out there shouting at everyone was Ned from what I saw. This is arguably the worst example match of why he is a "bad captain", which he isn't given the fact that he has been a regular here for a long time and knows the club well. The only person I'd want more as a captain is Faurlin but you can understand them not having him in the role given that he can get injured so often.
This guy then criticises the inclusion of Polter over Washington, despite the fact that 1) Polter is in good form, 2) Washington is not at full fitness and was lucky to get 45 minutes of football under his belt.
Then he actually praises Mackie's performance for being "heart on sleeve" while criticising Polter for exactly the same thing!
Then this guy says we don't take this derby seriously, he must not be on these forums or speak to fans at all because I always see fans talking about the importance of this game.
Just so many things wrong with this article, I'm amazed he criticised Tozser given how he got every other bit of analysis wrong.
