When we were relegated we took a punt and held on to him, hoping that we'd go straight back up. The club also knew that his market value would drop considerably if we failed to get promoted at the first attempt. Although he probably wanted to leave, he never sulked or threw his toys out of the pram, IMHO he kept his head down and gave his best every time he wore the shirt.
I can't blame him for wanting to be playing prem football, especially if he has ambitions of playing for England. He's been the best striker our club has had for many a year and doubt that we'd have been promoted last time, without him. Unless he starts bad mouthing the club, I hope he has a very successful career and will remember him fondly.

Out for 'several weeks' because of a hamstring injury...

Southampton will be without striker Charlie Austin for "several weeks" because of a hamstring injury.

                      I personally don't care.

Loved him in a Rangers shirt but of absolutely no interest to me now. Actually went to the extent of unfollowing him on Twitter as I'm a massive sulker. I wish him no harm, I just don't care about his progress or lack of since he left us.

He originally got injured on 25 September so he was hardly rushed back too soon, and he has hardly played since then.

IIRC he broke down again after returning from the original injury, and then remained out for a further period leading up to the January window.

There goes our half million for him scoring nine goals if he is going to miss a month which is gutting. Like others have said he is not our concern any more but you cannot help but still admire the guy for what he did for us so I personally would like to have seen him do well but he looked really out of sorts last night and hardly got a pass worthy of the word.
