That could also be translated as....When the bright lights of the premiership are shining on him he chooses to turn up. When he is stuck in the championship he is not as motivated to put in as good performances. Which if true is a problem with the player. You choose to give him the benefit of doubt others choose to blame him.

Another way to look at it is... he's already shown his talent off in the championship for us so he doesn't have so much an issue with the league as with the constant uncertainty around him, the club, etc. Getting the club more stable will get more out of a lot of players. That could also be translated as....When the bright lights of the premiership are shining on him he chooses to turn up. He was injured for most of the season and was coming off an injury so you can't blame him for not doing too much at the beginning. He got those 3 goals and 2 assists in the 10 matches leading up to his injury so lost his momentum. I'd say he was still very good when available."What stats allow you to do is not take things at face value. So when did he show his talent off in the championship for us? Looking at his stats that is not the case. And the stats don't lie NasAnother way to look at it is... he's already shown his talent off in the championship for us so he doesn't have so much an issue with the league as with the constant uncertainty around him, the club, etc. Getting the club more stable will get more out of a lot of players.Comment

Not really. The point is that he hasnt quite shown it for us in the championship. He may well have been injured for parts, I accept that but that doesnt prove your point that he has shown his talents for us in the championship does it? It only suggests that he had an injury that season which may or may not have restricted his goals and assists.Comment

That was an Agyemang-esque purple patch Nasser. No way at all a true representation of his ability as a player. At the same time, you could look at 14 premier league games 8 assists and 3 goals out of the 18 we actually managed to score in that period (Contributed directly to almost 2/3 of our goals in that period) as proof of his ability alongside the fact that it proves when he feels a level of stability and support, he'll do very well. I think personally, either when he leaves or signs a new contract, he'll start playing really well. Certainly much better than the level Andros Townsend is capable of.You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.Comment

If he was as good as some rate him on here - Then even if he wasn't putting a shift in cause of speculation/ his mind was elsewhere etc........ All this abilty that he supposedly has still should be producing a lot more than 4 assists in 29 league games in a very poor Championship. Austin barely could be bothered but his ability meant he still banged in 10 odd goals and was up there as a top Championship player. It's not just stats which are poor. It's his performances. He has been a passenger a lot of the games and produced very little. Some put it down to this/that etc but he basically isn't that good.Comment

I would hope that with Poulter up top, you'll find Matty P, gets far more assists. Put some great balls in against Wolves and as him and Poulter learn each others way, i hope they build up a rapport and and we see plenty of balls into the box and Poulter getting himself a hatful of goals.Comment

He played in 22 games from September to January, scored 3 assisted 2 then got injured. He was injured for most of the season and was coming off an injury so you can't blame him for not doing too much at the beginning.
