    Austin cost Southampton £13M+....

The breakdown of the deal which took Charlie Austin to Southampton reflects the fact he had 6 months left on his contract. In the summer he would have gone for nothing and negotiated a fat signing on fee for himself, through his agent...be interesting to see if agent's fees are declared by Rangers on Southampton.

QPR fee = £4M + add ons such as goals scored for Southampton this season.
AUSTIN = £6M signing on fee.
Wage (cant confirm but ballpark £90k pw)
    Agents fees = £3M

Outrageous agents fees..bearing in mind he was out of contract, but this what goes on behind closed doors in football.

Not having he's on anywhere near £90k a week! Half it and you'll be closer.

You also say if he left on a free, he'd have got a large signing on fee, what's £6m then?!

£6m does sound alot of dough. At end of season on free I would have expected him to get 3to4 mil

Definitely think the fee we got is lower because to make him leave part of fee was lumped into the signing on

I have had a word with myself..this puts it into perspective...
Hurts...the average run of the mill premier will earn £10M over same period..as at current TV money. Next season each club will get at least £100M per season...so expect that average salary to be double by 2019. This year Southampton have spent £32M and got in £12.5. With Austin they're hedging the next 3 years football money. Don't expect Austin to be there in two years if he's a success. He'll be sold for a lot more than they've paid for him and their exposure will be two years wages...and fees. Unlike us who got what we paid for him...
                          Cédric Soares £4,700,000
                          Juanmi £5,000,000 Nathaniel Clyne £12,500,000
                          Cuco Martina £1,000,000
                          Jordy Clasie £8,000,000
                          Oriol Romeu £5,000,000
                          Virgil van Dijk £11,500,000

Probably couldn't believe it because it's bu ll sh it. In fact you called it a ballpark figure yourself so you're effectively going back on your previous statement. You can't just say source is reliable and leave it at that and expect it to be taken seriously. To then say he's getting a 6 mil signing on fee is even more ludicrous.
