Bit odd for a chairman to say stuff like that when it's all relative. Wages are paid to chaz in lieu of the cut price transfer fee.

Maybe not out and out wages, but the value of the overall deal. If Chas had waited 6 months then he'd have got a big signing on fee - he's probably still got a signing on fee and reasonable wages, which if you divide the overall worth by the number of weeks gives you £100K. Far more likely to have been given a signing on fee and lower wages to avoid everyone else asking for a pay rise as soon as he signs.

Cabaye the experienced French international...why wouldn't he be on a figure around that mark?
