i wonder if signing these 2 new strikers after the austin deal = price pushed up, as we've got more dosh.

wouldve been nice to solidify one of those "irons in the fire" as mentioned in the OP article, and THEN made the Austin transfer.

Oh yes, that would be nice. I hope we will outright buy him. No loan.

Gayle would be hero worshipped at the bush, he's that sort of player. Best signing we could possibly make to replace chaz imho Hits mucker.

Thing about Gayle, I've looked at his stats for Peterborough and Palace. He's only scored 18 goals in about 3 years, could argue he's been used as a sub a lot for Palace. I do like him though.

Gayle will function well with Polter doing the "dirty work" for him, I think.

13 in 29 for a struggling Peterborough side in the Championship and 12 in 55 for Palace although I'd guess that he's only actually started a quarter of those games and played up front on his own or wide.

Stick him up front with the BFG and he'll get 10-12 by the end of the season and looking at 20-25 a season from him in my opinion.

Gayle with a polter or Rhodes type would be out of this world.

If the club pulled it off then they would deserve a lot of credit. Just hope it would be on a permanent.

Also sky are reporting two clubs have gone in for Rhodes from the championship. One is sheff wed and the other uned.

We have been strongly linked with him for Charlie's replacement. Could it be us?
