    I'm not a traveller - although my great gran was a Roma who lived in Northolt (AFAIK). Spent a fair few of my years growing up in Owlsmoor - which is traveller central.

    It was certainly a crash course in how to look after yourself!

        Growing up round Mitcham ,most of my pals were from Romany families ,good people .( where i picked up expressions like "dinlow "! )

            Most are defiantly good people. You just can't back down though.

            As I'm sure you know - they keep their cards close to their chest and look after their own.... but that's not a bad thing IMHO.

                      Reckon it must be people originally hearing dinlow ( the Romany word for div ),but thinking it was dimlow ,and the expression taking off !
