What's he say? Video link doesn't work for me.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Yes but the very few sensible people on here who predicted exactly this when we signed Rio, they got shot down in flames, as usual. #willweeverlearn

I'd imagine your wife's illness and passing away would affect any footballer's form.

To be fair Rio had to deal with his wife's terrible illness last year and that must have affected his performances.

I disagree completely. I never factored that in and I never will.
If his wife wasn't ill, he would have been as useless for us.
Was Park's wife ill? Samba's? All those other ageing mercs we squandered millions on?
We should stop offering excuses for those worthless acquisitions, once and for all.
Otherwise we will continue buying (into) them.

I think most people didn't want him here in the first place and not just a few who didn't.

You make it sound like any old illness.

It was a terminal illness, which moreover he had to keep private, let alone how he handles it with his own children.

Very sad what happened to his wife, cancer is a terrible illness but surely the right thing to do was retire as soon as he found out? Not keep playing?
