I see what you mean, but I think players have this issue from the moment they step into the new stadium. Dressing room is different and generally home teams make it as difficult for away teams as possible with the way the dressing room is, the route out. Its generally a very different experience for the away team relative to the home team.

I don't think this supports the point that pitches don't have much of an effect that much. When you take it for what it is, its a table showing that we have the 3rd smallest pitch by area in the premier league last season. There is a big enough size difference to make a difference to many players. There's a reason loads of pro's bring this up, especially with relation to us. It comes down to two things for me, the way our stadium is built with everyone on top of the action and the small pitch. This makes it difficult for expansive passing play but we are slowly developing and altering our game style to work this in. But you do have to combine two factors in regarding pitch and general crowd set up which makes playing at home (for us at least) a very different experience.

It's not about small or large pitches it's about players mind set and mentality . We are talking about a matter of feet not ####ing square miles . 11 against 11 one goal at each end . The only affecting factor is a lively and intimidating home crowd and even then professional sportsmen paid tens of thousands of pounds a week should be able to deal with it .

Could not agree more. Two or three yards not enough to have significant difference

No they don't. Our pitch feels small because the stands are so close to the pitch if there was bigger run off from pitch it would feel bigger. Are west ham or Spurs classed as having tiny pitches?? Or Chelsea who are only a yard bigger in each direction. Our pitch is more or less the same as most other pitches. If our pitch was 100 by 60 then yes you would have a point it would be tiny but its not

You are allowed to be wrong every now and then Nas you don't have to argue about absolutely everything

Same back 4 that have kept consecutive clean sheets, with a midfield 4 something like Chery Sandro Fer Phillips and JET up top with Austin. That would be my side.

Mine too. I think playing two defensive mids leaves us too defensive and too deep. We need to be taking the game to the opposition more and pinning them in their half.

CR actually said in one of his pre season interviews that he doesn't want to play with two defensive mids as it takes away from our attacking prowess and makes us too defensive as a team. But for some reason has gone back on it. Could be too apprehensive and trying to play safe like HR used to away from home.
