Since when did 29 become old for a defender?! Most defenders are in their prime between 27-31, so 29 is not old in the slightest! Irritates me when players are classed as "too old" as soon as they hit 30 - Dunne, Nelson and Hill have been our best defenders over the last 3/4 years, and they're well into their 30s.

yeah bang on Kent ! we're spend a modest fee on a 29 year old but the so called big boys man u city scum are spending untold millions on players from 27 upwards

Yes, it's nice to have some younger players in the squad but we are going to the extreme and seemingly frowning upon players because they're 29?! Jesus christ. It's about ability, not age. Rather have a few 29 year olds in the squad that know abit about this level of football that a starting 11 of all under 22s!

It would be madness to through more than a couple of under 21's into a Championship side. We need a good mix of experienced players with a sprinkle of under 21's to add that youthful zest to the team sadly missing last season
