    Only problem with that plan is he becomes free to speak to other clubs 6 months before the contract expires. Yes, he'd probably see out the season with us but there would be nothing stopping perspective clubs putting contracts his way from January onwards. Unless we are romping the league (which I can't see) we would probably lose him for nothing whatever the outcome.

            If it gets us promoted then yeah, for sure. 15m quid (if we can get that) is a lot of money in our current situation though!

                Gives us some lovely funds to replace him and some to pay off debt / FFP
