Would rather get rid of Green & his 60k wages or whatever he's on

Got to admit that's how I read it. I'm a McCarthy fan and can't completely get my head around this. However the fact we have green means I'm pretty relaxed as he's an outstanding keeper to have in the championship and arguably the best in the league.

If we can recruit a decent up and coming gk like the one at Southend a few have mentioned then it's not the worst thing to happen.

I do still think McCarthy will prove long term for someone to be a exceptionally good keeper.

I thought the deal was off because WBA no longer wanted the Palace keeper? Cd be wrong but think that's what I read?

No idea. If its off then its a bit pointless Ramsey coming out and saying that. It sounded like he was preparing us for McCarthys impending departure. We will see I suppose

I think he played the full 90 the other day though in all fairness.

Need to offer McCarthy a new contract now and make him number 1 where he can be for years.
Got nothing against Green as been great for us, but we have to think of the future which McCarthy would be for years.

Green could have another 2/3 years as a top class keeper in him, we need20/ 21 year old back up

                    Could easily have that

I don't wanna lose McCarthy though as we rated him highly when we signed him.
He also chose us over Liverpool as didn't want to sit on the bench there and saw a future with us.
I really rate him as he is gonna turn out to be a great keeper.

Up to him if he wants to leave if the release clause is met, but I would offer him a new improved contract to keep him here.

If that clause is £3.5m then best we lose him now, can you imagine him having a blinding season and we lose him for £3.5, hmmmmm.

I think we should see who stick with Green an d bring through one of the young keepers.

Not if you offer him a new contract and change his release clause!!
He can't be on huge wages, and he was rated a couple of years ago as someone that could challenge Joe Hart.
Don't forget Liverpool wanted him as well but he chose us.

Just think he is worth keeping hold of.

Former Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Jonathan Maxted is reportedly set to sign for Championship side Queens Park Rangers…
