                    The only reason I can think of is the heat. The extreme heat (compared to the UK) makes training and matches more intense, making it a better tougher workout!....... other than that, I think bakes is probably right!

                      I think away gives them more focus on just the football. Way too many distractions. Only time they've really seemed to work was when Holloways sent them on a RAF bootcamp up north

                      Also heat and altitude obviously help with fitness

                        I Love the way that some are so down on the club that they are even trying to hold them responsible for the italian weather..i wonder if the Monaco fans feel the same!

                          Who's blaming the Italian weather u lemon? Nothing wrong with being organised and making sure beforehand that everything was in order.

                            Personally, pre season is all about fitness. Not the scores. Nor what pitch it is. I'm more worried at the lack of players at pre season rather than who they're playing or what pitch it is on.
