Being from the USA I've never heard of a bleep test. We used to do what was called "Ben's Runs" named after some guy who played in college. 3 man teams, for 2 minutes you jog the width of the field. 1 man across, then next guy comes back, then 3rd guy across again. Then when the 2 minutes were up, whistle blows and it becomes a 90% run for 2 minutes. Then when that time is up, it becomes 2 minute sprints. It was nearly unbearable. Just the worst when coach would yell Ben's runs. I was very fit, would run about 7 miles a day. I've seen countless kids lose their lunch on those. What is the Bleep run and what makes it difficult? The starting and stopping? I watched the video but clearly it doesn't do it justice at all? Help a man out if you can.

So I watched a few Youtube videos on it. I understand the beeps get quicker and quicker. Could I do it now, absolutely not, to many Busch beers in my gut. But the pace of it looks like a brisk jog till about level 10. Then I can see it getting to be tough.

According to Ian Taylor it was in fact the YoYo test - a variation on the bleep test: http://www.topendsports.com/testing/...termittent.htm
