For me the club should hold out for the 15m regardless. Charlie is worth it and the opening bid of 10m suggests to me that somebody will pay it for him. If Charlie doesn't want to go to Saints or Newcastle then he can stay and get us promoted next season, that's worth more than 15m anyway even if he f*cks off for a free in June!

Ideally yes we would and this is how transfers were handled in the past, however not anymore. If Newcastle were the highest bidders and his wife didn't want to leave her family and the kids have started schools in the south you can't say go to Newcastle or you get nothing. You then have a very pissed off player and agent who won't want to put other players into our club.

If Austin won't go and mopes around until January when he will leave for £2-4m and do nothing for us.

Also we don't know what agreements may have been made with him about if we get relegated etc.

he wouldn't do that for 2 reasons
he isn't that way inclined
and he would want to stay at the top of his game in order to be selected for the Euro finals next summer.

Man Utd reportedly interested in Kane for £40M so in my book Chaz is well worth £20-£25M...Homegrown...18 goals for a relegated team...an outstanding goals-games record.
Can see Spurs selling Kane for £40M and buying CA for around £10-£15M. a nice tidy profit and a very similar replacement (if not better).
Just hope the club brings in his replacement/s sooner rather than later.

It's based on a number of things including his background work ethic, and how he has conducted himself at previous clubs as well as at QPR. No one has spoken out against him as having cause issues or problems, unlike other players.

As for moping around, he wont do that as he would want to impress the England manager as well as future buyers.

He does seem like a sound lad but if your employer told you, your wife and your young kids to #### off up to Newcastle for 3 years or you can stay in a #### job you wouldn't be that happy after everything you have done for them. This is all hypothetical anyway, just an example of how the biggest bid may now win the day and we may have to take less.

It's also possible the biggest bidder will be a club he wants to go to so no worries then.

Whatever happens, I just hope that we have a contingency plan. We really cant afford another Remy situation where Charlie gets transferred in the last kickings of transfer deadline day and we get left with nothing or worse, shafted for a massive fee for someone who isn't worth it to replace Charlie.
Someone please tell me just this once, we'll get our transfers sorted before its all too late/expensive.....please!!

It's called 'how to run a proper business'. For too long this club has rolled over and got shafted over transfers, and for too long it's been about player/agent power. It's about time we took a leaf out of Daniel Levy's book and his ilk.
