Since when has stadium capacity been a measure for success?Originally posted by Toninho View PostIts interesting that stadium capacity wise we are the 3rd smallest club in the division, just a bit of a reality check for the deluded on here that believe that we can get promoted again as and when we feel like it.

I wasn't even going to answer your #####ic statement but I suppose I must, even though it has nothing to do with my initial post.Originally posted by Lunar Jetman View PostSince when has stadium capacity been a measure for success?
If you could use both of your brain cells again and think about it, you would know the answer.
Example,
Italy=AC Milan, Inter, Juventus, Roma.
Spain=Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia.
Germany=Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Shalke.
Holland=Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord.
Scotland=Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen.
England=Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal.
Etc etc.
is it sinking in yet??

What is our promotion rate from this division over the last 5 seasons?Originally posted by Toninho View PostHow many times have we won any league in our 130 year history?
Also strange logic to use top flight clubs to backup your point that we may struggle in this division. Quite a few teams with similar capacities to us have managed to get promoted in recent times, I would say that is more relevant than your examples

I can't remember the last time a club with a big ground got relegated from the prem, Newcastle or Sunderland maybe? A high proportion of teams that go down seem to be the ones with smallest grounds and I suspect that stat gets more stark every year now.

All depends on what you consider to be a big ground. Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Bolton, Blackburn, Leeds, Wigan (although they barely fill it) all have big grounds. Hull and Burnley have bigger grounds than us, although as I said, it depends on your definition of big ground. Wolves too. Derby and Reading.Originally posted by Abseits View PostI can't remember the last time a club with a big ground got relegated from the prem, Newcastle or Sunderland maybe? But the clubs listed above are in general the biggest in their respective countries and in general the most success goes to the biggest clubs. There are exceptions (for all you nit pickers) like wimbledon who didnt even have a stadium. But in general over the whole history of football, the most success goes to the biggest clubs.
Over and out!!
