It's a step in the right direction. Would much prefer to watch Mackie in the wings hassling defenders, driving in and getting a ball in than toilet.

I like Mackie but mixed on this one. For sure I will appreciate his efforts - but I also remember being so frustrated at his technique. Weighing up what we've been served recently though, a bit of effort is probably all I ask right now.

I think what is key from both threads is that most see him as a squad player so will be interesting to see if Mackie is happy with that or if he comes with expectations of starting eleven. He was not content to be a squad player last time
