Bloke's a bellend but would take him on cheap wages. No captain and no coach. Bloke stabs youth players in the eye with a cigar, so no I dont think our youth should look up to him.

Spot on. I honestly wonder what some of our fans actually watch week in week out. No doubt the same fans that say Barton is crap are creaming their pants because hog the ball, bundle into players, miss sitters, run straight off the pitch Mackie will be back next season.......

I think where ever he goes he won't get no more than 30-40000/week and half of that in Championship. Of course he can go to India or Middle East,if he want more money

Yes I have been watching Us on a regular basis thanks . I've never rated him , I think he brings unwanted attention to the club (let's also not forget he only ever came back because Marseille bulked at his wage demands) . He behaves like a #### on and off the pitch (hull and man city are just a couple of examples) constantly spouts #### in the media and basically thinks he's ten times the player he actually is . Gives the ball away cheaply A LOT and is generally one of life's scum bags . Personally don't want him anywhere near this club

Always gonna divide opinions is Mr Barton.

I get all of the calls on here that he was one of our better players last season. Wouldn't be hard though, other than Greeno, Charlie and Matty Phillips we really didn't have too much to praise last season.

Personally I think he's a decent player when he gets on with what he's good at, the ugly stuff in midfield, harassing the opposition, putting it about, covering ground etc. What I don't like is the fact that he thinks he can knock a ball like David Beckham, he's not a Premiership standard play maker and when he tries to play like one it frustrates the hell out of me. I also don't think he's worth anything like the salary we have been paying him, and don't get me started on the red cards, petulance and off the field/Twitter nonsense.

All said and done, I do honestly believe we are better off without him. The positives he brings are well outweighed by the negatives. Calls for him to be made player-coach are just daft in my opinion. Clint Hill is player coach-material, a proper example and leader for the squad and the youth coming through. Barton was busily slating probably the best player our club has ever had on social media a few weeks back, how do you point to him as some sort of example?
