Platini says FFP will be relaxed

Just heard on Talksport ,the headline "Platini says Financial Fair Play rules to be relaxed " ,they didnt say any more than that ,except which ever one of Hawkesby and Jacobs ,that supports chelsea moaning about it .( surprise surprise )
Anyone know anymore and how it can effect us ?

Also just heard this headline and wondered the same thing. If even the most arrogant of Frenchmen is accepting it will be relaxed, it really supports my ongoing theory that it is unworkable in law - and therefore somewhat shambolic of the powers that be to seek to enforce it

Small fine (a few mil) no where near the 10s of millions being quoted. Embargo is a realistic possibility as this was what Nottingham Forrest and Leeds received under the new regulations.

As said before there is a British law which means the football league can't charge us on the old rules which all the papers and pundits keeps suggesting. We will be charged under the current football league rules which means the consequences are a lot less severe.

Biggest worry would be a embargo but this might not come into play until January 215 which would mean we would have the summer to sort ourselves out and recruit. A smallish fine and transfer ban in jan wouldn't be the worst case scenario.

This is actually the law in England when it comes to regulations. It's called the lex mitior rule and basically means that company's or in our case a club must be charged on what now is the most lenient version of the rules.

This is what our club lawyers are pursuing. Most pundits and reporters know about it but are choosing to ignore it as the old story is a much bigger debate and newsworthy. However a lot of creditable journalists have been talking about this for a long time.

About 2 weeks ago a sports lawyer was on talk sport on the late night show and he said the way the club have handled the finances and published them is a joke but he also said he very much doubts the football league can uphold any major fine they try to impose on us due to this rule.

He explained it saying that under the old regulations the charges against us would be the equivalent of life in prison with no parole but the new charges is like getting a slap on the wrist and at worst a bit of community service.

We all know the football league changed the rules, as they themselves said the financial constraints clubs who were relegated from the prem league to the championship had to operate under to meet the ffp were unworkable. now they have done this and new regulations are in place it's going to be impossible for them to uphold charges based on the old regulations. Meaning the fine that's being banded around is a load of rubbish. The new rules are much more lenient to clubs relegated from the prem.

I think we will be OK ,a top lawyer could drive a coach and horses through this stuff it makes no sense and could cost the Football League a huge amount in costs. I know Tony is not everyone's cup of tea but I think he will stand by us and despite everything I think we will be in the mix this time next year!
