  • The what needs changing about our club to be successful thread

I will start with long term manager with a long term vision

And players who actually look and play like footballers. Current side would fit in perfectly with the new trend walking football were that slow and un-athletic

Agree with that, management team of old head and young pup - a bit like you and me A decent fitness coach. Invest in younger, hUngrier players. All good sides have pace, some youth. We need to be more professional. It doesn't seem to matter who is in charge we get the basics wrong. It would be good if we looked like we work on things in training for a change. We need to close games out not peas around for last ten minutes giving it away.

Stop behaving like big time Charlie's.

Signing 'stars' on mountains of cash.

We are a small club, start acting & working within our means.

Just posted this in the other thread, probably fits better here.

I get the feeling there's no easy way out of this. It's going to be painful whatever way.

We need to build a football club from the ground up, which would be achievable, but will never happen, because if we lose a few games or more in the early stages of it, the fans will demand sackings, demand more signings etc etc

Appoint Ramsay (or whoever can build a team for next year without a massive budget) get a squad built as quickly as possible from lower league and youngsters and anyone still here who is willing to work their #### off. Make it abundantly clear to all that it may not be the smoothest ride, but that we're committed to doing it properly. Get back to being a selling club, that brings in rough diamonds, and tries to polish them up and then sell them on, and the fans don't demand someone's head when it happens.

He's not a manager . He's a youth coach filling in because no one else wanted it

This relegation was imminent. How do you sell off your entire club that got you relegated initially bar 4 or 5 players, put together a patchwork club of elderly men and loanees that are all on one year contracts, get promoted, and then attempt to patch the aging squad by bring in more loanees and a couple big names (sandro, Caulker), and then let your best striker (arguably) leave the day before the season starts.

We need a group of young and talented players, and to build around them. NO MORE TURNOVER!!!!!

              That's my Christmas wish.

Look what Eddy H has done at Bournemouth,,,, good manager , good scouting,,pace,, team spirit,, etc etc,,, O and a billionaire owner : )..

Can't see us coming back for at least 2 seasons,, we haven't got much of a team left, new one will take time to build,, unless we go the Mark H route which doesn't work...
