Why is Kranjcar so popular with supporters?

Someone care to enlighten me? Can think of five or six good games he's had for us. Other than that, he's looked unfit, had a poor disciplinary record, constantly given the ball away and sent at least five or six shots over the bar every match. Absolutely abysmal tonight, one of the worst substitute performances of all time.

Awful tonight and him coming on killed us. Does that awful fake to shoot thing when there is no need to do it and they score on the break as it was so easy to read. Then just strolled around for the rest of the game as he is so unfit. Killed us! Sandro and Henry didn't offer us anything attacking wise but they made it so difficult for Arsenal to break us down and we looked dangerous on the counter.

Gave the ball away very cheaply on the edge of their box for Arsenals first, poor game all told from him in my book. Mistake bringing him on for Sandro who obviously only had an hour in him, why wasn't there a better option on the bench? Kranjcar can't play that deep against a side like Arsenal!

I'd have preferred Doughty or even Isla in there to Kranjcar. Henry and Kranjcar with 2 wingers either side of them were never gonna be able to hold off that Arsenal side for 30 minutes tonight.
