Caulkner, Mutch, Phillips, Hoilett & Fer ....all came to us on increased wages and terms but all failed. All completely inconsistent and generally poor. If all of those had fulfilled what was expected of them then we would of had a strong core to the team and wouldn't be in the mess we are in.
I know we have had other wasters but they were generally on the face of it risky buys, these 5 made sense but have delivered nothing.
Idea that Caulkner should be given time isn't a sensible argument, he was previously at a Premiership club and not a 18 year old, Walker came on loan to us and was an instant success but none of these have come anywhere close. No excuses for players on upwards of £30k p/w in my view.

I'm not ridiculing anyone. In fact, my post was going off at a tangent. All I was saying is football is full of clichés these days and how over used some words are.

Think you're throwing your toys out mate.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Potential? My ###!! He must have been a pro for at least 5 or 6 years now.. He's got no nous, no awareness, can't read the game, can't lead or Marshall the defence and can't bring the ball out of defence. I cannot see how he'll suddenly develop these abilities?

'Had' being the main word..... But now this young player, who has all the potential and was talked of being a future England player by so many on here is now 7 months later no good for QPR...... Give him time imho

I would give him time myself Nick as think with coaching (something we have lacked at out club for years now) he has potential to be a very good player but it needs someone at the club to invest time in him and teach him the craft of defending. Todays an example he never had to put his head on the ball he could have pulled head away and let it go out and it would have gone out for a goal kick or he could have put it out for a corner of the back of his head but he made the worst possible option

Perhaps its bad luck but currently every error he makes results in a goal but stand by the fact its only last few games people have started asking questions he had an easy ride to date

Yep to be fair I agree with all of that West!... Like you said with coaching/time he has potential to be a very good player, but again like you said mistakes are now leading to goals which in turn is obviously costing points. But I still wouldnt be tempted to move him on, because of this 'potential' he has. Maybe mix it up a bit at the back for the remainder of the season just hope we dont get rid come the summer because of these mistakes that can be corrected by coaching that we might not of had in the past but might have now.

Caulker at fault for the second. FFS. Two goals down to him. What a save from Green.
